Established in the Arkansas River Valley in 2015, Barbwire Productions strives to transform the equine industry into art. Blending photography, videography, graphic design and professional writing with a passion for horses, Barbwire Productions thrives on the cutting edge of creation.

About the Founder: 

Barbara Aitken, the founder of Barbwire Productions resides in Scranton, Arkansas. Barbara developed a love for horses at a young age. From headstrong ponies to all-around and reining horses, Barbara grew into a competitive career in the show pen.

Barbara completed a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences from Baylor University in Professional Writing while being an active member of the NCAA Baylor Women’s Equestrian Team. After graduating BU in 2013, Barbara continued her education at Arkansas Tech University, expanding her creative skills from pen and paper to the TV screen. She graduated ATU in 2015 with a Masters of Art in Multimedia Journalism. Upon graduating, Barbara accepted a position with the Ohio Quarter Horse Association in Richwood, Ohio, home of the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

Barbara currently works for Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus, in Ozark, Arkansas as the Public Relations Specialist. She also writes for Show  Horse Today magazine, Pleasurehorse.com, and has had articles published in America’s Horse, Horseman’s Round-Up, Ozark Farm and Neighbor, while she actively pursues her passion for creating video and ad design for various clients.
